Chi Truong, MD, FAAP

Chi H. Truong, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician with over 25 years of experience providing expert hospital-based care to children throughout Southern California. Known for her compassionate, thorough approach, Dr. Truong is dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents during hospitalization. She provides expert care to patients at South Counties Pediatric Critical Care Medical Group, with offices in Fountain Valley, West Covina, and Long Beach, California.

Dr. Truong earned her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed her pediatric internship and residency at the University of California, Irvine. Before pursuing medicine, she earned a Master of Science in Microbiology and spent several years conducting virology research and teaching in microbiology and virology labs, bringing a deep scientific foundation to her clinical practice.

Throughout her career, Dr. Truong has served as a trusted pediatric hospitalist at leading institutions, including Fountain Valley Hospital, Miller Children’s Hospital, and Queen of the Valley Hospital. She provides attentive, collaborative care, ensuring families are informed and supported during every step of a child’s hospital stay.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), Dr. Truong remains committed to best practices in pediatric care and lifelong learning. She is fluent in Vietnamese and proud to serve Vietnamese-speaking families in their preferred language, helping foster trust and clear communication.
