Bio


Olivia Shyong, DO, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric critical care physician who specializes in treating critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. She works at South Counties Pediatric Critical Care Medical Group, which has offices in Fountain Valley, West Covina, and Long Beach, California.

With advanced training in complex airway and burn management, Dr. Shyong brings both skill and compassion to her care, supporting families through some of the most challenging medical experiences.

Dr. Shyong earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. She went on to complete a pediatric critical care fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she served as Chief Fellow. During her time at Mass General, she collaborated with specialists at Shriners Boston and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, gaining in-depth experience managing complex pediatric airways and burn injuries.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Shyong has presented extensively at national medical conferences on a range of pediatric critical care topics. She is actively involved in advancing the field through education and research and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).

Dr. Shyong is known for her thoughtful, family-centered approach and clear communication. She takes time to ensure parents understand their child’s condition and care plan every step of the way. As a valued member of South Counties Pediatric Critical Care Medical Group, she is proud to serve patients across Los Angeles and Orange counties with excellence and empathy.
